What Clients Say

Meet Michael Robertson
Michael Robertson's passion for audio, video, and lighting began long before Equip AVL was founded. What started behind the scenes in his high school drama department quickly evolved into a lifelong pursuit of mastering the technology that shapes experiences, tells stories, and connects people.
That passion was refined in college, where Michael minored in communications while working at his local PBS television station. It was there he gained hands-on experience in live television production — learning to perform under pressure while producing live telecasts as part of the station's annual teleauction team and serving as a gaffer on the nationally recognized Andy Williams Christmas Special. Those formative years instilled in him not only technical expertise, but also an unwavering commitment to precision, professionalism, and excellence.
Over the past 30+ years, Michael has become a highly respected expert in the AVL industry, building a career that spans nearly every aspect of professional audio, video, and lighting integration. His experience includes the design, installation, programming, and operation of sophisticated AVL systems for Fortune 200 companies, corporate headquarters, multi-purpose facilities, boardrooms, conference centers, and large-scale event environments. From complex video conferencing ecosystems to mission-critical presentation spaces, Michael has led projects through every phase of the AVL lifecycle with a level of technical depth and strategic insight that only decades of real-world experience can provide.
What sets Michael apart is not simply his technical knowledge — it's his ability to translate that expertise into practical, dependable solutions that truly serve people. He understands both the engineering behind the systems and the human experience those systems are meant to create.
Throughout his career, the church has remained central to his life and purpose. Michael has faithfully served on the production team at his own church for many years, operating audio, video, and lighting systems not merely as an AVL professional, but as a volunteer, worshipper, and ministry partner. That unique perspective gives him a rare understanding of the challenges churches face — balancing excellence, stewardship, reliability, and ministry impact.
Equip AVL was built on that foundation: enterprise-level AVL expertise combined with a genuine heart for ministry.
"This isn't just a business — it's a calling. Every church deserves systems they can rely on and a partner who understands the mission behind the message."
— Michael Robertson, Founder

The Mission
The name Equip AVL is rooted in Ephesians 4:12 — "to equip his people for works of service." That verse captures everything this business is about.
We're not here to sell equipment. We're here to equip the people in the room — worship leaders, volunteer tech teams, pastors, and staff — with systems and training that let them focus on what they're actually called to do.
That same philosophy extends to every space we serve. Whether it's a church sanctuary, a conference room, or an event venue — technology should be invisible. When it's working right, nobody notices it. They just experience what it makes possible.
How We Work
"To equip his people for works of service."
